ISEO has Zero-Tolerance for Forced Labor; Commits to Continue its Work on Eradication

Washington, D.C. – The Institute of Shortening and Edible Oils (ISEO) is aware of recent Withhold Release Orders (WRO) issued by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regarding a number of imported products including palm oil, and palm oil products, made by FGV Holdings Berhad and Sime Darby Plantation Berhad. ISEO has zero tolerance for the alleged labor practices outlined in these WROs and remain united and steadfastly opposed to any instance of forced labor for any edible oil or product supply chains. ISEO does not tolerate the use of forced labor in supply chains, and we expect those who do business with our member companies to uphold the same standards. We stand ready to work with governments, non-governmental organizations, and our partners domestically and internationally to solve the complex, but necessary challenge of eradicating forced labor.
